Not that we should really be surprised, but “Terminator 4” is currently under production in Sacramento.

Gov. Schwarzenegger brought the fantasy world that is Hollywood to the state capital when he arrived. Both his language and his actions show that he believes that, like in his movies, if he just follows the script and reads his lines in his authoritative Austrian voice, everything will fall into place the way he wants it in the end.

Mind you, this is nothing new. He did it throughout his recall campaign, but over the last week he has found new ways to apply this philosophy.

First, he warned that “Armageddon cuts” would be imminent if Proposition 57 is defeated in the March 2 election. He is using action movie terms to scare us into passing the $15 billion bond measure that he says will fix California’s budget woes.

Interestingly, if his words do have a shred of truth, it’s only because he and other GOP lawmakers have not even explored a potential back-up plan, which might include raising taxes (a Republican no-no). But this is Hollywood, right? Failure is not in the script.

The governor then brought his act to the gay-marriage issue. On NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, he said, "All of a sudden, we see riots, we see protests, we see people clashing. The next thing we know, there is injured or there is dead people.”

OK, we’re talking about people publicly declaring their love for each other. Only in the twisted world of action flicks do we need to worry about deadly riots at weddings.

On the same day, Schwarzenegger ordered state Attorney General Bill Lockyer to stop the gay marriages in San Francisco. This is just more Terminator-style intimidation tactics and shows that the man has no idea how government actually operates. Lockyer is an elected public official, and in the real political world even the Governator has no right to tell him what to do.

But hey, that’s what you get when you have “elected” officials who are installed through bogus recall elections. Are we ready for another one, Humboldt voters?
